Running The Skyline Desktop Connector In Gateway Mode

The link on how to install the Desktop Connector will be sent to all users once their Skyline User login is ready for activation.

Note

The Skyline Desktop Connector must be logged in as the user granted Skyline Gateway permissions, this will more than likely be the person who has strategic reporting access. Note, Skyline should be logged in 24/7 for data to upload into Skyline once the TPP extracts have updated.

The Desktop Connector in Gateway mode is responsible for uploading the daily extracted data from the C:\Programdata\Informatica\Data Extracts folder into Skyline.

To run the Desktop Connector in Gateway mode you need to:-

  • Download the Desktop Connector on the PC you’ve configured the Strategic Report extract on and which runs TPP in Gateway mode

  • Data should already be being extracted into the C:\Programdata\Informatica\Data Extracts folder on the Gateway PC

  • Log into the Skyline Desktop Connector

  • Select your Practice Name Gateway Organisation and click on Continue

Note, the first time you log into the Skyline Desktop Connector on the Gateway PC you will be asked for the location of the extract files, this is C:\Programdata\Informatica\Data Extracts

  • Browse to C:\Programdata\Informatica\Data Extracts

  • Click on OK

The Skyline Desk Connector will now monitor the C:\Programdata\Informatica\Data Extracts folder throughout the day for changes and will automatically upload the data into Skyline.
