QRISK3 Calculator
Overview
The purpose of the QRISK3 is to calculate the patient’s risk of developing a heart attack or stroke over the next 10 years using the QRISK3-2017 algorithm.
Validity
The calculator is only valid if the patient does not already have a diagnosis of coronary heart disease (including angina or heart attack) or stroke/transient ischaemic attack.
The patient must be aged 25-84 inclusive. 85 is too old for the calculation.
The mandatory data items must be collected before the score can be calculated. The mandatory items are age, sex, BMI, Systolic BP and Cholesterol/HDL ratio.
Outputs
The calculator outputs codes and associated values that equal the calculated 10 year risk score as a percentage to 1 decimal place and the Heart Age.
