Introduction
Informatica’s Skyline is a primary care data analysis tool that downloads and analyses patient data from the principal clinical system and presents the findings in a given way based on requirement or user specification. It has the ability to deliver clinical decision support in the form of patient cues and in future releases will support collection of patient data and patient recall. Skyline supports a range of third party patient tools and risk calculators.
Intended Use
Skyline is intended to support GP practices and commissioners to improve the quality of patient care, increase efficiency, meet national and local targets and maximise practice income.

A dependency and assumption for the safe intended use of Informatica’s Skyline is that Skyline is not intended by Informatica Systems to be used in place of expert clinical judgement and decision making. Clinicians should always verify the information provided by Skyline prior to making clinical decisions. |
General Precautions
Risk management activity in Skyline includes both Design Risk Management, Process Risk Management and Software Risk Management.
The safety goal is achieved through demonstrable compliance to industry best practice safety standards, including ISO 14971 and DCB0129.
Pre-Use Requirements and Dependencies
Supported Devices, Operating Systems and Browsers
PC or laptop with Windows 10 or above. Supported browsers; Edge, Chrome and IE 11
Minimum supported screen resolution is 1366 x 768.
Licence and Agreement Management
A valid System Licence is required for Skyline, additional licences may be required for individual solutions within Skyline. Users must agree to Informatica Systems Ltd licence agreement and HSCN Terms of Use as required by NHS digital, this is currently a manual process.
Availability of clinical data
Skyline relies on integration with the principle clinical system supplier to download and analyse patient data.
Software Installation, Upgrade and Configuration
Skyline is a cloud based application deployed to AWS London Region EU-WEST-2. Deployments are fully automated though the CI/CD pipeline and there is no requirement for local installation.
Desktop connector
The Desktop Connector is a Windows desktop application that must be installed by any user wishing to interact with the principle clinical system. The Desktop Connector uses Microsoft ClickOnce so that it can be installed and updated with minimal user interaction. Updates will be automatically rolled out to users
