What Is A Cohort

Overview

One of the key features of Skyline are the patient cohorts. These display lists of patients which are related to the solution selected. Each solution may have one or more cohorts to help users explore a wide range of information relating to the solution. A cohort has a title and some information which explains the information being displayed by the cohort. As well as the name and the age of the patient a cohort may display other patient information relevant to the cohort. Cohorts can be sorted and filtered to show only those patients who meet a set of conditions. This enables the user to focus on a subset of patients in the cohort.

Cohorts can be exported to Excel to enable further analysis or archiving of the data presented. The option is available from the action menu.

Use of filters

Filters are access from the Filters button on the cohort page. Clicking on the filters button produces a box with all the fields that can be used in filters.

Name or Surname: enter a name or part of a name followed by 'Apply' and all patients with that text somewhere in their name will be displayed.

Age From/To: either type youngest and oldest ages in the boxes or move the sliders and click 'Apply'. All patients with ages between those set will be displayed.

Data Filter

This allows filtering on the information displayed in the cohort columns. Text that is entered can be set to mean that a patient is included or excluded using the radio buttons.

The Quick Search will search all columns and display those patients with matching text. Note field is not case sensitive so done and Done will produce the same results.

The following fields relate to the separate columns in the cohort and hence vary from cohort to cohort. These fields are case sensitive and must contain the whole text displayed to find a match. As with quick search all patients with matching text in the specified column will be displayed.
