AUDIT Calculator

Overview

The purpose of the AUDIT calculator is to assess the patient’s current level of drinking and identify the patient’s risk of harm from alcohol consumption. It is often used as a follow-up to the AUDIT C calculator to more comprehensively assess the patient’s drinking.

Technical Specification

The AUDIT calculator is valid for all patients.

The calculator displays the ten questions required and the user indicates the answers given by the patient. Each answer is assigned a score.

The calculator outputs a code with the value of the AUDIT risk of harm from alcohol.

Scoring:

● 0 to 7 indicates low risk

● 8 to 15 indicates increasing risk

● 16 to 19 indicates higher risk

● 20 or more indicates possible dependence
